Day 1

NJP Rly Station / IXB Airport – Darjeeling (75 kms / 3 hrs)

Meet & Greet on arrival at NJP Railway Station / IXB Airport & transfer to Darjeeling (6,950 ft.). On arrival Check-in to hotel & rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at Darjeeling.

Located conveniently close to the Clock Tower and 2 minutes walk from the Mall, Broadway is a nice mid priced hotel in Darjeeling offering good value for money.Hotel Broadway was constructed in the early 1960s, as a Cottage, with only two rooms and over the years has expanded to have 20 rooms, all elegantly done up and most with wooden finish. As you enter the reception area, Amit a friendly man and a member of the family owning the hotel is likely to welcome you. I was pleasantly surprised that this family run hotel, managed by Amit Khatri meets and even exceeds what it promises. From near the Clock tower where the Gandhi road begins, as you walk few yards, to the left,towards Cooch Behar road and the hotel is barely 100 yards from where you take the left turn.There is a seating area at the reception. While there are couple of rooms at the reception level, most of the rooms are on upper floors. There are three floors above the reception.

Day 2

Darjeeling Sightseeing

Early Morning (at 04:00 am) drive to Tiger hill (8,400 ft.) to watch the spectacular sunrise over Mt. Khangchendzongha (28,208 ft. Worlds 3rd highest peak), on your way back visit Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop. After breakfast visit Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, P.N. Zoological Park (Thursday closed), Tenzing Rock, Tibetan Refugee self-help Centre (Sunday closed), Tea Garden (outer view), Ropeway and Japanese Temple. Evening free for shopping or leisure. Overnight stay at Darjeeling.

SIGHTSEEING : Batasia Loop

The Batasia Loop is a spiral railway created to lower the gradient of ascent of the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway in Darjeeling district of West Bengal, India. At this point, the track spirals around over itself through a tunnel and over a hilltop

SIGHTSEEING : Tea Garden

Tea planting in the Indian district of Darjeeling began in 1841 by Archibald Campbell, a civil surgeon of the Indian Medical Service. Campbell was transferred as superintendent of Darjeeling in 1839 from Kathmandu, Nepal. In 1841, he brought seeds of the Chinese tea plant (Camellia sinensis) from Kumaun and began to experiment with tea planting in Darjeeling.The British government also established tea nurseries during that period (1847). Commercial development began during the 1850s.In 1856, the Alubari tea garden was opened by the Kurseong and Darjeeling Tea company,followed by others.

SIGHTSEEING : Tenzing Rock

Opposite to this is the Gombu Rock named after Nawang Gombu, nephew of Tenzing who was the first person to climb the Everest twice, once in 1963 and then in 65. He took over as the Director of Field Training at Himalayan Mountaineering Institute after Tenzing retired in 1976.One of a pair of large natural rocks used by people to practice rock-climbing, including beginners.

SIGHTSEEING : Tibetan Refugee Self Help Center

The Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Centre was started on October 2, 1959. Following the dramatic escape of His Holiness the Dalai Lama during that period of mayhem, thousands of our fellow countrymen, leaving hearth and home, fled into neighboring countries so they could live as free human beings. The overwhelming majority of the refugees had brought nothing with them apart from the clothes they wore and what little provisions they could carry with them as they began the long and difficult trek over the Himalayas.

After breakfast proceeds to picturesque drive to Gangtok (5,500 ft.). On arrival Check-in to your hotel. Rest of the day free for leisure. Overnight stay at Gangtok

Gangtok Local Sightseeing

Start for a Full day city tour covering Tashi view point, Ganesh Tok, Hanuman Tok, Flower show, Cottage Industry and Handicraft Centre, Institute of Tibetology, Dro-dul Chorten, Enchey Monastery & Banjakhri Falls (maximum 6 hours). Overnight stay at Gangtok.

SIGHTSEEING : Cottage Industry And Handicraft Centre

Directorate of Handicrafts & Handlooms is the recent name given to the old Handloom and Handicrafts Centre of Sikkim. Located at a distance of half kilometer from the main market of Gangtok, the centre is also known as the Government Institute of Cottage Industries (GICI).

SIGHTSEEING : Enchey Monastery

The Enchey Monastery was established in 1909 above Gangtok, the capital city of Sikkim in the Northeastern Indian state. It belongs to the Nyingma order of Vajrayana Buddhism.

SIGHTSEEING : Ganesh Tok

Ganesh Tok is close to Tashi View point and is a Lord Gansha temple. It is not only popular for the temple,but for its amazing views too. Which makes it a popular tourist attraction. You can see the Gangtok town,Rolling hill and the snow capped mountains including Kanchenjunga.

Hanuman Tok is a Hindu temple complex which is located in the upper reaches of Gangtok, the capital of the Indian state of Sikkim. The temple is dedicated to lord Hanuman, and maintained by the Indian army.

SIGHTSEEING : Ridge Park Flower Show

The flower exhibition complex is situated just below the Ridge Park and adjacent to the White Memorial Hall that draws numerous visitors during the annual flower exhibition. Located not very far from the main town, one can easily walk to the flower exhibition center or take a cab. Here you can find many varieties of Orchids and other flowers most of the year, but best time to visit this place is around April-May (spring season), when the management gathers and showcases fresh varieties of orchids and other flowers from around the state. The climate of Sikkim is exceedingly conducive to cultivate orchids and other variety of flowers. The Government of Sikkim invites participants from the neighboring states also to participate in the annual flower show contest.

SIGHTSEEING : Tashi View point

Tashi View Point is a perfect place to witness the brilliant surroundings like mountains, valleys and Gangtok itself. This famous tourist point is located at a distance of 8 km from the town and is mostly known for offering some of the best sunrise and sunset views. On a clear day you can see the Kanchenjunga and Siniolchu Peaks. Glimpse of famous monasteries of Gangtok, Phodong and Labrang can also be seen from the view point.

After breakfast start for an excursion to Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft.) & Baba Mandir (13,200 ft.) which is 55 kms one way from Gangtok city. Overnight stay at Gangtok.

Major "Baba" Harbhajan Singh (30 August 1946 – 4 October 1968)[1] was an Indian army soldier who died in 1968 near the Nathu La in eastern Sikkim, India. He is revered as the "Hero of Nathula" by soldiers of the Indian army, who built a shrine in his honour. He was accorded the status of saint by believers who refer to him as the Baba (saintly father).

  • We provide 01 Non a/c Indica / Wagon R / Sumo / Max in all categories for 02-08 pax including child. In case the number of heads increases, than the guest will have to take another vehicle with an additional cost.
    Instead of Indica / WagonR for above itinerary, if the client demands for Innova/ Scorpio/ Xylo, then an additional charge of 4000 inr to 4800inr applies.

·  Any increase in taxes or fuel price, leading to increase in cost on surface transportation & land arrangements, which may come into effect prior to departure.

Terms & Conditions

Ø  In case client wishes to prepone /postpone his or her travel dates, we request you to kindly reach us 15 days prior to journey date via e-mail/SMS.

Ø  The customers can prepone /postpone their tour once without any additional charges (if intimated before 15 days of travel date in written). However postponing & preponing second time will attract additional charges.

Ø  Also note that few service providers (Hoteliers, Transporter etc.) may apply postpone/prepone charges even after meeting above requirement. In such cases postpone/prepone charges will deducted from the advance amount deposited.

Ø  In all prepone or postpone scenarios, the services and the costing will be subject to availability of Hotel/Volvo and season/off season time.

Ø  We do not accept any changes in plan within 15 days of travel date. However in rare cases like adverse climatic conditions or strikes, package can be postponed which will be intimated to you beforehand.

Ø  The validity to utilize your Advance payment in prepone/postpone scenarios is 1 Year from the date of advance payment.

Ø  The advance payment and the invoice Number allotted to you, are transferable i.e. you can pass on your booking to any of your friends/ relatives. (Please Note: In order to transfer your booking you must meet the above terms and conditions first).

Travel Basics

Ø  Check In & Check out Time is as per Hotel Policies (Early check in is Subject to Availability and might extract Extra Cost as per hotel policy)

Ø  Meals Timings must be followed as per the instructed time of the hotels and meals served as per the hotel menu whether it is Buffet or Al-Carte. For any un-availed meals we shall not be responsible.

Ø  In few tourist destinations, the facilities of Hotel, Services, and Aids etc. cannot be matched to developed destinations. Hotels in such places are categorized on the basis of location, Services and costing and not as per Star Categorization i.e.; 1*, 2*, 3* and so on.

Ø  Guests can avail only those services that are mentioned in confirmation voucher. Any Add-ons, Changes/Upgrades in arrangements, Pick up/Drop other than the stated location will be based on additional expenses. 

Ø  Transfers must be followed as per the instructed time of the transporters. In case, customers miss their respective transportation services, alternatives arrangements will attract extra cost. 

Ø  TravelKaro.com Holidays will not be reliable for any changes made by Third Party Providers i.e. Transportation, Hoteliers etc.

Ø  TravelKaro.com shall not be responsible for any delays due to technical faults, Heavy Traffic Jam or unforeseen situations. In “Unforeseen” scenarios extra cost may also be levied over the customers.

Ø  Adventure Activities will be subject to Season/Off Season and subject to availability as well.

Ø  Kindly carry confirmation Voucher, ID Proof,  Volvo Tickets , Flight Tickets etc (if included in Package)

Ø  The customers are recommended to read the Confirmation Voucher carefully and approve it within 24 hours of issuance. Any errors shall not be entertained during the tour.  

Ø  The above package can be customized as per the customer’s Requirement based on the availabilities of hotel, transport and weather condition etc.

Ø  50 % of the total package cost must be deposited as an advance in our company’s account to confirm the package.

Ø  Remaining 50 % of the package cost should be paid 30 days prior to the start of the tour.

Cancellation Policy

Ø  There is no contract between TravelKaro.com and the client until the company has received initial deposit amount of specified tour package.

Ø  In case, customer wishes to cancel his/her booking before 15 days of the travel date because of whatsoever reasons, including accident, sickness, or any other personal reasons, non-payment of the balance payment, the Company is liable to recover Cancellation charges from the Client. All the cancellations must be communicated in written.

Ø  Advance amount 50% is also non-refundable in case the cancellation is done within 15 days of the travel dates or No Show scenarios.

Ø  Advance token amount 50% is non-refundable in any cases.

Ø  In exceptional cases like Instant death, the company can refund the advance payment amount but only after deducting its service charges and Company would also need the death certificate to process the refund amount (Please note: This policy will not be entertain if the cancellation may happen during the tour.)

Ø  The Company deserves the right to change the package cost depending on the economical status of the market as per the Government policy.

Ø  Services will be provided to the customers as mentioned in the booking voucher only.

Ø  Any complimentary services (If not provided) cannot be claimed in form of cash or alternative services.
